It’s true that many of us dance
- It can snow in the south.
- Unlike most of South America, we don’t speak Spanish, but Portuguese.
- Our capital is neither São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, but Brasília – which was built from scratch in 41 months.

- The largest Japanese immigrant community lives in Brazil, with over 1.8 million descendants.
- Brazil is the largest exporter of coffee in the world, and it has been for over 100 years.
Brazil is a land of contrast…
Culture varies from region to region and state to state.
Social and educational inequality are visible within the same town.
Technology plays an important role in people’s lives, with more than one mobile phone per inhabitant.
Yet, internet connection can be unreliable and very slow – but it won’t make you lose as many sales as it would in the US or Europe.
Brazilians tend to blame the internet provider, rather than the online business, when a website has low speed. And we wait for much longer for it to load.


…but we all speak the same language
Brazil speaks only one language: Portuguese, referred internationally as Brazilian Portuguese.
And, yes, Portuguese is a difficult language to master. But you can’t avoid dealing with it properly.
Most Brazilians take notice of mistakes and dislike machine translations. For us, not adapting your content to our language and culture shows you don’t care enough to learn about us before trying to sell your product.
While talking to a Brazilian audience, you also want to avoid losing sales due to:
