About
Interview With Myself
Tell me about your background
I come from a family of business owners, and I’ve always loved writing. As I grew up, I was fascinated by how the use of language influence sales.
I guess this why, when I went to university, I ended up with a BSc in Communications and an MBA in Marketing.
Over 15 years, I worked as a journalist for a major newspaper and as a public relations executive for companies, non-profit organisations, government agencies, and entrepreneurs. I’ve supported marketing decisions, planning and implementing strategies to attract customers and increase revenue.
Since 2016, I am a full-time sole trader. I became a Copyblogger’s Certified Content Marketer and earned certifications from Hubspot and Writer’s Digest University.

What have you learned that can help my business?
I’ve learned to collect, organise, adapt, analyse, and deliver the information that your customers want in the format they want. Your content will encourage your customers to take action, increase your sales and help you to achieve your goals.
To accomplish this, I will listen to you and get to know your business, customers, and competitors. I will identify reliable sources, and choose the right angle, tone, visual style, and vocabulary to delight your target audience.
Why should I contract your services?
- You will have a complete skill set at your disposal: public relations, journalism, search engine optimisation (SEO), data analysis, and user experience.
- I only take on a limited number of clients so that I can fully dedicate myself to their business. You won’t be one among many.
- Despite being an independent contractor, you will see me as part of your team, and we will succeed together.
- This isn’t a side gig for me. I’ve been a full-time freelancer since 2016.
- I don’t outsource any step of my writing process, except the proofreading of long pieces occasionally. In this case, I send your text to a professional proofreader at no extra cost to you.

How do you handle criticism and feedback?
I am fully aware that the articles’ goal is to boost your business, not to flatter my ego. I am also aware that you know more about your business and customers than I do. I am happy to take on board your improvement suggestions.
On the other hand, I believe you also expect me to advise you accordingly. I will let you know if your suggestions might have an undesired impact. You can then decide what should or shouldn’t be changed.
What if I don’t like your work?
Before hiring me, you might want to review my previous work to check if what I offer meets your requirements and aligns with what you expect. Some samples are available on my website, but feel free to ask me for something more specific.
I also suggest that we create only one short piece of content when starting a new job. This way, we can evaluate if my writing and working style suit your expectations before we discuss a long-term commitment.

What about confidentiality?
I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) or agree to it as a clause of your contract if you have one. Even if you don’t, I will keep your information confidential, regardless.
To comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar regulations from other countries, I would rather not receive any information with identifiable personal data.
How do I hire you?
Please either use the contact form below or email me at itisme@lucydamasceno.com. Let me know the service you require, your goals, and your target audience. If you already have a blog or website, please send me the link. I will get back to you, and we can take it from there.
